Lawrence Vincent Churles Edson, aged 28 years, tram conductor, of Ashley Streett, Torrenville (S.A.), shot himself in the head on July 23 in a room at the Adelaide watch house while he was being questioned about the disappearance of his wife. He died two hours later in hospital. Later in the day the police, digging in the back yard of Mrs. Edson's home at Knoxville, discovered her dead body.
Following an interview at the watchhouse Edson had been told that the police were not satisfied with his statement, and that it was intended to detain him until they searched his house and dug in the yard. Edson pulled out a revolver and shot himself in the head.3

A TIGHTLY-FITTING BODICE of white patterned ring velvet, and a full crinoline skirt of white marquisette, formed the bridal frock worn by Miss Gwen Evatt for her marriage last night at St. Philip's Church, Church Hill, with Mr. Geoffrey Perry Andrew.
The bride, who is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Evatt, of Wollstonecraft, added a cut tulle veil, which fell from a top-knot of white hyacinths, and she carried a bouquet of the same flowers. She also wore the bridegroom's gift, a pendant of amethyst set in gold. Later, when she left the reception she added a full-length hooded cloak of amethyst velvet.
She was attended by Mrs. Peter Andrew, Misses Margery Evatt, Beryl Appleton, and Gwen Coles. Their crinoline frocks of orchid pink butterfly sheer were worn with muffs and top-knots of pink and blue hyacinths.
The Rev. L. N. Sutton officiated, and the bridegroom, who is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Andrew, of Wollstonecraft, was attended by Messrs. Peter Andrew, C. Fagin, Don Hall, and Leslie Haynes.
The reception took place at Farmer's Oak Hall. The honeymoon will be spent motoring to Port Macquarie and the North Coast. Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew will live at Killara.2
Geoffrey began military service on 22 May 1942 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, when he enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force. His service number was 422368. He was discharged on 27th September 1945, with the rank of Leading Aircraftman with the 7 Mobile Works Squadron, Royal Park.3
He died on Monday, 19 June 1950, aged 34 years, 7 months and 15 days, in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, New South Wales, Australia, from injuries received in a road accident.
