These are some of the people in our tree who were noted in their time, some famous, a few infamous and several I found just plain interesting. Some will have a link on their home page to more information.
- Calthrop, Everard Richard was a British railway engineer and inventor
- Cummings, Joseph Francis jumped ship from a whaler to become the first of our Cummings branch
- Edmonds, Ernest Harry was orphaned when 8 years old and rose to be a respected Member of Parliament
- Edmonds, William Bennett was the first Australian branch of our tree
- Faggotter, Ceacle Frank Valentine was a jockey with an international career, including wearing the Queen's colours
- Haines, William Ephraim Peter was sentenced to death for murder
- Parsons, Rex Whaddon was an electrical engineer and educator who was awarded an OBE
- Perry, Rayden Alfred was a long-time leader at the CSIRO
- Starr, Peter was charged with murder, convicted of manslaughter
- Tangye, Derek Alan Trevithick was a noted 20th century author of more than 20 books
- Tangye, Nigel Trevithick was a war correspondent, author, aviator, ladies man
- Tangye, Sir Richard was a 19th century English industrialist and philanthropist
- Tramountanas, Georgios (George North) was the first Greek settler in South Australia and one of my ancestors
- Withers, Peter was sentence to death, commuted to transportation for life, then freed
