Circumstances: Enciente, Putative Father George Tainsh, late master of the ketch "Victory" but at present working for his brother James Tainsh, a farmer of Port Lincoln.

She states that George Tainsh gave her the sum of three pounds to obtain some medicine for the purpose of producing an abortion and that she obtained three bottles of medicine from a Chemist (Mr Lower of St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide) and Tainsh also brought her a bottle of medicine to endeavour to effect the same purpose. No person saw Tainsh give her the money referred to. Tainsh used to make his home when ashore at Mellor Road Glanville near to the place where her parents reside. The girl states that her father is a vegetable hawker in poor circumstances with several small children to maintain and that he is not in a position to contribute to her maintenance at this Institution. She expects her confinement to take place at the end of the present month,January 1902 Father W. C. Oxlade mother Catherine Oxlade four brothers two sisters one married sister Mrs Steer of Bundaleer (Mary ???)

Left the institution 30/08/1902 with child . To c/o Mrs.K Oxlade, Sutherland Street Glanville.1

He died on Saturday, 3 December 1921, aged 19 years, 9 months and 2 days, in Adelaide, South Australia.
