On 16 April 1941 Angus began his millitary service when he enlisted in the Australian Army in Wayville, South Australia. His Service Number was SX12255. He was discharged on 26 February, 1944 with the rank of Corporal in the 5th Regiment 2/27 Battalion.2

He died on Wednesday, 14 September 2005, aged 93 years and 21 days, in South Australia.3
