Life Events

     Ronald Albert Alchin was born on 30 December 1915 in Mount Bryan, South Australia, son of Albert Anthony Hatwood Alchin and Julia Cordelia Olman.¹

On 24 October 1940 Ronald began his millitary service when he enlisted in the Australian Army in Gladstone, South Australia. His Service Number was S33031. He was discharged on an "unknown date" with the rank of Private, in the 8th Auxillary HT Company.
He rejoined on 18 April 1943 at Wayville and was finally discharged on 29 August 1946, with rank of Sapper in the Australian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Training Centre.²

On 29 October 1949, Ronald, aged 33, married Muriel Gale, aged 31, in Adelaide, South Australia.

For not having a "current wireless listeners' licence" he was fined £3, with 10/- costs, on 3 September 1953, in the Adelaide Police Court, Adelaide, South Australia.³

He died on Saturday, 5 December 1992, aged 76 years, 11 months and 5 days, in Adelaide, South Australia.

Ronald was buried on 11 December 1992 in the Port Pirie Cemetery, War Graves section, Port Pirie, South Australia, by Reverend Varnish.⁴

     Thelma Edith Alchin was born on 30 October 1917 in Kooringa, South Australia, daughter of Albert Anthony Hatwood Alchin and Julia Cordelia Olman.¹

On 21 March 1940, Thelma, aged 22, married Colin Lionel Anders, aged 26, in St Saviuor's in Glen Osmond, South Australia.¹

     John Maxwell Jaffrey was born on 15 April 1928 in Adelaide, South Australia, son of Archibald Fisher Maxwell Jaffrey and Nina Emmaline Stirling.¹

John passed examinations in the faculty of law on 13 March 1952 at Adelaide University, North Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia, Subjects were The Law of Wrongs, The Law of Property, Real and Personal and Mercantile Law.²

He died on Sunday, 15 March 1998, aged 69 years and 11 months, in Medindie, South Australia,³ and he was cremated at Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, on 18 March 1998.³

     Mabel Maud Excell was born about 1882, daughter of Ben Excell and Emily Elizabeth Fairbank.

On 15 March 1905, Mabel, married Charles Percival Holmes, aged 25, son of James Holmes and Susannah Robinson, in Methodist Church in Port Broughton, South Australia.²

She died on Tuesday, 13 October 1953, in Wudinna, South Australia.³

Mabel was buried on 14 October 1953 in the the Wudinna Cemetery, Wudinna, South Australia.³

Life Events

     She died on Tuesday, 24 September 1940, in the Central Eyre Peninsula Hospital, Wudinna, South Australia, after only 6 hours, because of prematurity.^1,2,3 Mary Dubois was born on 24 September 1940 in the Central Eyre Peninsula Hospital, Wudinna, South Australia, daughter of Charles Dubois and Clarice Maud Haines.¹

Mary was buried on 26 September 1940 in the the Wudinna Cemetery, Wudinna, South Australia, by the Reverend Father Conway.²
