Unfortunately, Charlie died the next day from tuberculosis; which leads me to believe that perhaps, she had been nursing him and he married her so she could inherit his estate, if any. Another (newspaper) report states that they were married in HER place of residence, 4 Bowden Lane, which was next door (something that needs more research.)9
Following Charlies death, Edith continued to live at 6 Bowden Lane, off Gilles street, Adelaide, South Australia for at least 2 years.10
Between 1933 and 1942 she was living on Main North Road, Enfield, South Australia.10

"It was said that Susannah had a claim to Hobb's millions when her parents died.
The Story goes that she was asked to go home to England to identify herself so she could inherit her Parent's fortune but that Grandpa Talbot was a hard man, and that he burnt all her documents saying, "he had to work for all he had, and that was also good enough for her."
As Susannah had no money for her fare, the inheritance was never claimed by her.
With further research it has been identified that Susannah was not the only child, there were 10 children, 5 girls and 5 boys so, even if it was the same family, the Hobb's millions would have been shared."
I have looked into this tale and it appears that the "Hobb's Millions" story was a myth or a scam, but with the distance from home and the difficulties in corresponding with family at home, it would have been difficult to verify, at the time. As far as I can see, even though it was probably a myth, it involved a different Hobbs family anyway, or possibly even a family called Mobbs!
