Less than a minute after he had entered the Loftia Park swimming pool yesterday afternoon, Ronald Keith Fairlie, about 17, printers assistant, of
Alexander avenue, Prospect, threw his hands above his head and disappeared in about 12 feet of water. His body was recovered about six minutes later, and although resuscitation methods were applied for three-quarters of an hour he could not be revived. Fairlie was a member of a party of cricketers who had been playing on the Heathfield ground, about a mile from the pool. About 5.30 p.m. the youths went for a swim. The body was recovered by Henry Hezekiah Hunt, 26, collector, of Fourth avenue, St. Peters, a member of the Henley Life Saving Club, who was standing near the pool when Fairlie disappeared. A report for the Stirling Coroner (Mr. A. C. Vickers) will be prepared by Mounted Constables D. Mutch and A. J. Copeland. of Stirling.

His home had been at 8 Alexandra Street, Prospect.2

Ronald was buried in the Dudley Park Cemetery, Dudley Park, South Australia.3
