     Emma Sarah Ginham was born on 20 September 1829 in Exeter, Devon, England, daughter of John Ginham and Charlotte Burrow.1

On 1 May 1852, Emma, aged 22, married Samuel Vosper, aged 26, son of William Vosper and Elizabeth Gowman, in Exeter, Devon, England. Her father was "a Sergeant at Mace", a policeman who patrolled the streets at night.2

Emma was widowed when Samuel died on 31 August 1853 in 5 Buller Place, Exeter, Devon, England.2,3

On 1 April 1855 Emma aged 25, married George Bailey, by Banns in the Parish Church, Islington, Middlesex, England. The witnesses were John G. Ginham and Ellen Bailey.4,5

About December 1870, Emma, married David Windsor, in Lambeth, Surrey, England.2

She died about December 1911, in Camberwell, London, England.2

Life Events

     Walter Kirton was born on 7 June 1866 in Thirsk, Yorkshire, England, son of Robert Hill Kirton and Martha Emma Jesper.2

He appeared on the census on 2 April 1871, in the household of Robert Hill Kirton in 7 Biddick's Court, St Austell, Cornwall, England, as son, aged 4.3

Walter, 14, appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 in Sidcot Quaker School for Boys & Girls, Winscombe, Somerset, England, as a boarding student, aged 14.4

In 1895, Walter, married Isabella Ross, in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.1

On 31 March 1906, Walter, aged 39, married Elizabeth J Darby, aged 40 years, 1 month and 3 days, in The City and County Building in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA. (You can read an account of the marriage here).5

In 1915 Walter wasliving at "Kia Lami", Fulmer Way, Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire, England.

On 12 April 1920, Walter, aged 53, again married Elizabeth J Darby, aged 54 in St Martin's, London, England. It is unknown why they felt it necessary to have a second marriage ceremony.6

He died on Monday, 15 March 1937, aged 70 years, 9 months and 8 days, in a nursing home, Nairobi, Kenya.1

Walter was buried in the St Paul Cemetery, Kiumbu, Kenya.1

Life Events

     Arnold George Oxlade was born on 26 May 1923 in Port Pirie, South Australia, son of Henry George William Charles Oxlade and Ivy May Matthews.1

When he enlisted in the Army in 1942 Arnold was living in 21 Moorhouse St, Solomontown, South Australia.2

Arnold began military service on 28 March 1942 in Wayville, South Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. His service number was SX20934.1

On 25 October 1943 Arnold embarked from Australia to serve with the army in New Guinea, returning on 21st Feb. 1944.2

He married Peggy Lorraine Leonard, daughter of James Arthur George Leonard and Jane Lydia Lacey Lawson, in Maughan Church, Adelaide, South Australia, on 26 May 1944.2,3

On 3 April 1945 Arnold left Australia for operational service on Moratai Island, returning on 6th Dec 1945.2

He was discharged, with the rank of Private, on 2 January 1946, from the 2/48 Australian Infantry Battalion in the Hampstead Barracks, Greenacres, South Australia.2

On 16 October 1958 Arnold was living at 84 Alexandra St, Prospect, South Australia.2

He died on Wednesday, 13 July 2005, aged 82 years, 1 month and 17 days, in the Royal Hobart Hospital, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.4
