On 17 June 1936, Frederick, aged 26, married Jessie Miller, daughter of Roland Miller, in Church of the Epiphany in Crafers, South Australia.³

He died on 22 June 1991, in Orroroo, South Australia, aged 81 years and 4 months. At the time of his death he was living in the Orrorroo Community Home.⁴

Frederick was buried on 25 June 1991 in the Peterborough Cemetery, Peterborough, South Australia, in the Protestant 6B section, plot 2300, by Reverend David Crammand.⁴
