He died from a cerebral haemorrhage and arteriosclerosis., on 23 April 1938 in Kapunda, South Australia, aged 84.2
Thomas was living in Hare Street, Kapunda, prior to hospitalisation and was a retired farmer.2

     Mark Flower Haines was born on 17 July 1857 in Tea Tree Gully, South Australia, son of James Haines and Hannah Flower.

On 29 July 1879 he purchased land under the South Australian scheme known as the "Strangeways Act", where settlers could purchase land on credit, with 20% deposit and the balance payable at the end of 4 years.

He bought Section 144 Hundred of Bundey, County Burra, an area of 291 acres at a cost of £291.1

On 20 November 1880 Thomas was a witness at the Marriage of Thomas William Rosser and Emma Haines in residence of Mrs. Haines, Kapunda, South Australia.2

He died on Monday, 17 May 1886, aged 28 years and 10 months, in Kapunda, South Australia, from enteric fever (typhoid fever.)3 Mark was buried in the same grave as his parents, James and Hannah, in the cemetery behind the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Allendale North, South Australia.4

Mrs. Harriett Rowe, 82, wife of Mr. Samuel Rowe, who died recently at the Kapunda Hospital, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Haines, and was born at Teatree Gully. When she was 6 years of age she went with her parents to Allen's Creek, where Mr. Haines farmed. She lived there until 23 years of age, when she married Mr. Rowe. and went to Port Augusta, where the couple remained for two years. They then went to Kapunda. and have resided there ever since—a period of 57 years. Mr. Rowe survives. Their only son (Charles) died several years ago.5

The witnesses were Emma's twin sister Harriett (now Harriett Rowe) and her youngest brother, Mark Flower Haines.2

She died on Wednesday, 1 May 1901, aged 45 years, 6 months and 18 days, in the Kapunda Hospital, Kapunda, South Australia, from Acute Rheumatism and Pericarditis.3,4

Emma was buried on 3 May 1901 in the Kapunda Cemetery, Kapunda, South Australia.
