Life Events

     Stanley Bonham Staker was born on 9 April 1893 in Adelaide, South Australia, son of William George Staker and Caroline Ann Jackson.

Stanley began military service on 27 September 1916 in the Showground Camp, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, when he enlisted in the AIF. His service number was 2826. After serving in France and Belgium, where he was wounded with a "GSW to R arm" (gunshot wound to the right arm), he was returned to Australia on 9th November 1918. Although it was recommended that he be discharged for disciplinary reasons, he was actually discharged on 21st May 1918 on medical grounds.1

He died on Tuesday, 10 August 1948, aged 55 years, 4 months and 1 day, in Springbank, South Australia, He had been living in Seaton Park before going to hospital.2
