From the "Burra Record", 28 June 1922
On Wednesday June 21st, a very pretty wedding was celebrated in the Redruth Methodist Church, which Esther Emily Fuller, (eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Fuller of Redruth, was united in matrimony, to Leslie Sampson Macgowan, late A.I.F., son of Mr James Macgowan, of Gawler.
The Church was daintily decorated by the bride's girl friends who showed a charming effect with autumn leaves, white chrysanthemums and streamers. The Church Choir rendered appropriate music, which was led by Mrs W. H. Gare who presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr Paris Fuller, looked chariming in a dress of ivory crepe-de-chene, hand embroidered with beads. She wore the usual veil and orange blossom, carried a bouquet of white tuber roses, hyacinths and sweet peas, with maiden-hair fern and ribbon streamers. Miss Dolly Denter (cousin of the bride) proved a charming bridesmaid in a dress of apricot crepe-de-chene. hand embroidered in silk. She wore a pale pink hat, trimmed with pink ribbon and roses, and carried a bouquet of pink roses, chrysanthemums and sweet peas with maiden-hair fern. The present of the bridegroom to the bridesmaid was a handsome gold chain and a ruby drop necklet.
The bridegroom was supported by Mr A. Fuller as best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained by Mrs Fuller to a dainty wedding breakfast, when good wishes were expressed for the happy couple, who were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents.
They left by the afternoon train for a short holiday in Adelaide. The bride travelled in a putty coat and skirt with a putty velvet hat trimmed with blue and gold. Their future home will be in Redruth.2
