     Laura Maria Puplett was born on 6 February 1859 in Adelaide, South Australia, daughter of William Puplett and Emma Maria Everett.1
An article in The South Australian Advertiser, Saturday, October 27, 1877, reports that Laura Puplett won first prize for her button-hole bouquet and for her mounted ferns, in the North Adelaide Juvenile Floral Society Annual Show. She had also won a prize the previous year. Buttonhole bouquets seem to have been a speciality of Laura's, as she had also won 1/6d in 1874 for her skills. She won prizes for her artistic talents every year between 1871 and 1878 inclusive.2
Laura was never married.3

She died on Saturday, 13 August 1938, aged 79 years, 6 months and 7 days, at her home, "Laver Breton", 83 Tynte Street, North Adelaide, South Australia, from (1) intestinal obstruction (2) carcinoma of the sigmoid (3) pneumonia.3,4

Laura was buried in the West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia, in the Quakers section, Row H, Site 87.5

On Saturday, 15 July 1939 in the "Adelaide Advertiser":-
Payments to Charity- Elder's Trustee and Executor Company, Limited, as one of the executors of the will of the late Laura Maria Puplett, recently made a payment of £175 ($350) on account of the residue of her estate to each of the following:-

Royal Institution for the Blind,
London Missionary Society (S.A. Auxiliary),
