Life Events

     Frederick John Pyle was born on 6 December 1910 in Parkside, South Australia, son of Frederick William Pyle and Gertrude Hinton Edmonds.1

Frederick began military service on 25 August 1943 in West Camp, Moorook, South Australia, Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. his service number was SX32711. He was discharged on 21st May 1945, with the rank of Private in the General Details Unit.2

On 24 August 1951 he it was reported in "The Advertiser" he was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, by ambulance, with a possibe fractured thigh after falling 12 feet from a scaffolding, while painting the St. Leonard Inn on Anzac Highway, St. Leonards.3

He died in 1987, aged 76 years.

     Elizabeth Locke Levett was born about 1854 in Portland, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Francis Findon Levett and Margaret Bennett Martin.2

On 26 June 1897, Elizabeth, married George Haines, aged 52, son of James Haines and Hannah Flower, in Wesleyan Methodist Parsonage in Adelaide, South Australia. One of the witnesses was W.A.R. Casely of Adelaide.1 On Tuesday, 24 August 1897
HAINES-LEVETT.- On 26th June, at Adelaide, by Rev. R. S. Casely, George Haines, of Mundoora, to Elizabeth Locke, fifth daughter of the late Francis Findon Levett, of Portland, Victoria, Great-granddaughter of the late Sir Francis Levett, London, England, and neice of the late Baroness von Roemer, St. Leonards, Hastings, England.4


She died on Monday, 7 April 1941, in Portland, Victoria, Australia.5
