From the "Port Lincoln Times", 18th March 1938
A pretty wedding took place in the Wudinna Church of Christ on March 8, when the marriage of Mavis M.E., fifth daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Bert Osborne, of Wudinna (late of Yaninee) to Lance B., younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Rowley, of Wudinna, was solemnised. Pastor M. Lawrie officiated.
The church was tastefully decorated in pink and white with a background of asparagus fern. It was made in arch fashion with a large white bell suspended from the centre.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr. Allen Lewis, was gowned in white embossed Mousealene, with shoes to match. She wore a veil, kindly lent by his sister, Mrs. L. Reddin, and carried a sheaf of flowers.
The bridesmaid, Miss Elsie Osborne (sister) was frocked in white muslin, with hat and shoes to match. She carried a posy bouquet. They were attended by two little page boys, Masters Murray Edmonds and Ron Lewis (nephews of the bride), who carried the bride's train and were dressed in cream (18th Century style).
Mr. Doug Simpson, nepnew of the bridegroom, was best man.
The bride's mother, Mrs. M. Osborne, wore a floral moracain frock, with navy hat and coat. The bride groom's mother, Mrs. Rowley, chose a navy and white floral ensemble frock.
Miss Jessie Bain presided at the Fix this textorigan and played the wedding march.
As the bridal party were leaving the church, Master Clifton Lewis and Miss Gwen Simpson, nephew and niece of the bride and groom respectively, hung lucky white horse shoes on the arm of the bride. The happy couple left for Adelaide, where the honeymoon will be spent.2
