Life Events

     Arthur Lynnington Ellis was born on 19 November 1910 in North Unley, South Australia, son of Benjamin Arthur Christopher Ellis and Charlotte Amy Bourne.1

On 6 February 1937, Arthur, aged 26, married Dorothy Grace Holmes, aged 24, in St Peters College Chapel in Hackney, South Australia.2

On 16 May 1942 Arthur began his millitary service when he enlisted in the Australian Army in Wayville, South Australia. His Service Number was SX18503 and he was discharged on 30 October 1945 with the rank of Sergeant in the New Guinea Printing & Press Unit.3

He died on Monday, 17 August 1998, aged 87 years, 8 months and 29 days, in Crafers, South Australia,4 and he was cremated at Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia.4
