The Duke of Newcastle was a wooden ship of 993 ton which left Liverpool on July 11th with Captain McKenzie in charge. There were 270 passengers "in steerage" and they arrived in Melbourne on 20th October 1865.
The only relative of ours on board was Annie Marion Vosper She made her way to South Australia where two of her sisters had settled some years earlier; Amelia in 1843 and Lydia in 1855.
