     Arthur Avis Haines was born on 23 July 1895 in Mundoora, South Australia, son of Thomas Haines and Elizabeth Baird.

On 14 April 1921, Arthur, aged 25, married Elsie Harriett Franklin, aged 23, daughter of William Friend Franklin and Clara Laura Farmer, in Methodist Church in Cowell, South Australia. The officiating minister was the Methodist Minister, Fred G. Rogers and the witnesses were the bride's brother James Henry Franklin, farmer of Cowell and C. R. Hening, home duties of Mindrow Creek.1

He died on Wednesday, 17 April 1963, aged 67 years, 8 months and 25 days, in Cummins, South Australia, from coronary sclerosis, chronic bronchitis, cardiac infarction (sudden.)2

Life Events

     Ethel Ruby Haines was born on 12 August 1896 in Mundoora, South Australia, daughter of Thomas Haines and Elizabeth Baird.

On 6 September 1922, Ethel, aged 26, married Thomas Sydney Dixon, son of Robert Dixon, in Methodist Church in Kapunda, South Australia. The officiating minister was Reverend P. Eckersley and the witnesses were G.E.H. Beasley, home duties, Mile End and M. Davies, contractor, Wallaroo.1

She died, aged 65, in the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Murray Bridge, South Australia, on 26 April 1962, from a cerebral haemorrhage, as well as having arteriosclerosis and pericarditis nodosa.2

Ethel was buried in the Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, in Acacia C section, Path CD, Grave 310.3

     Henry James Cook was born about 1860 in Devon?, England, son of James Henry Cook.

Henry was commonly known as Harry Cook.2

On 10 January 1888 he married Josephine Frances Cummings, daughter of Joseph Francis Cummings and Annie Morris Oakley, in res. of Joseph Cummings, Black Hill Farm, Sheringa, South Australia. The witnesses were William Cabot and Lelia Winstanley who, themselves, were married 5 months later. After Henry died, Josephine married Lelia's brother Frederick.3

1 August 1895 Henry leased Terre Station from the South Australian Government, (See here.)

He died on Thursday, 21 January 1897, on Terre Station, Hundred of Squire, South Australia.4

There is no record of exactly where or when Harry was buried. According to family oral history he is probably buried on Terre Station, in an unamarked grave.

There may have been an inquest into his death but all inquest papers for that period were pulped, to be reused during a paper shortage in the Second World War.5

Josephine was buried on 1 July 1932 in the the Wudinna Cemetery, Wudinna, South Australia, by ReverendG. W. Schofield.2

She died on Friday, 1 July 1932, aged 70 years, 2 months and 29 days, in the Wudinna Hospital, Wudinna, South Australia, from arteriosclerosis and a cerebral thrombosis.2

She died on Thursday, 12 June 1958, aged 69 years, 3 months and 22 days, in Adelaide, South Australia, after suffering from pneumonia for 48 hours.2

     Ida Emily Cook was born on 21 June 1894 in Davenport, South Australia, daughter of Henry James Cook and Josephine Frances Cummings. Ida was confirmed on 23 September 1917 in St John's Church, Sheringa, South Australia.1

On 30 October 1917, Ida, aged 23, married Thomas Edward Wheaton, aged 32, son of Edward Wheaton and Alice Jane Geharty, in St Luke's Church in Colton, South Australia. The officiating minister was Arthur S. Urch, Priest-in-Charge at Elliston. The witnesses were Percival Pascoe Cook, farm assistant of Venus Bay; H.E. Wheaton, Talia and E. Wheaton, farmer of Talia.2,3

She died on Tuesday, 3 May 1966, aged 71 years, 10 months and 12 days, in Adelaide, South Australia, of carcinoma of the breast with secondary metastases in liver and bone, causing pathological fractures of both humeri.4

Ida was buried on 4 May 1966 in the Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, in Acacia D section, Path DF, Grave 136.5
