     Mary Ellen Silverthorne was born on 16 January 1860 in Sandergrove, South Australia, daughter of Seth Silverthorne and Ellen Casey.

On 10 February 1880, Mary, aged 20, married Francis Michael Case, aged 27, son of Emanuel Case and Jane Starr, in St James Church in Jamestown, South Australia. By Reverend Father Pallhauber.1

She died on Sunday, 11 November 1945, aged 85 years, 9 months and 26 days, in Hospital, Jamestown, South Australia, of myocardial failure & auricular fibrillation.2,3

     Irene Case was born about 1909, daughter of Francis Michael Case and Mary Ellen Silverthorne.

On 23 April 1930, Irene, married Harold Martlew, aged 22, son of James Martlew and Susan Grantham, in Methodist Manse in Port Augusta, South Australia.1

She died on Friday, 1 July 1983, in Port Augusta, South Australia,2 and was buried in the Stirling North Garden Cemetery, Stirling North, South Australia, in section 4, block C, grave 11.2

     George Henry Burnard North was born on 15 May 1885 in Colton, South Australia, son of George Henry North and Eliza Elizabeth Valkema.1

On 17 August 1910 he was a witness at the Marriage of Robert Andrew Nelson Starkey and Ivy Mildred Eileen North in residence of George North, Hundred of Witera, South Australia.2

On 16 August 1911, George, aged 26, married Everline Josephine Cook, aged 20, daughter of Henry James Cook and Josephine Frances Cummings, in the Public Hall in Colley, South Australia. The officiating minister was P. L. Kelly and the witnesses were George's brother Herbert Austin North and Eva's sister, Annie Frances Cook.3

1913 George selected and settled on Section 13 Hundred of Travers, County LeHunte, South Australia, which was a mallee scrub block near Mount Damper.4

He died of acute pulmonary oedema leading to heart failure, on 4 August 1965 in North Road, Port Lincoln, South Australia, aged 80.5

George was buried on 6 August 1965 in the Happy Valley Cemetery, Port Lincoln, South Australia, by Monsignor Coffey.5

Life Events

     Everline Josephine Cook was born on 10 February 1891 in Port Augusta, South Australia, daughter of Henry James Cook and Josephine Frances Cummings. Her name has been spelled variously as Eveline (birth certificate), Everline (her name & signature on her marriage certificate) and Evelyn (on her burial records). I have used the spelling she used herself for her marriage.

Everline was known as Ev or Eva by her family and friends.

On 16 August 1911, Everline, aged 20, married George Henry Burnard North, aged 26, son of George Henry North and Eliza Elizabeth Valkema, in the Public Hall in Colley, South Australia. The officiating minister was P. L. Kelly and the witnesses were George's brother Herbert Austin North and Eva's sister, Annie Frances Cook.1

In December 1932 Everline had an appendix operation, in the Wudinna Hospital, Wudinna, South Australia, that went wrong and it took several weeks for her to recover.2

She died on Wednesday, 27 April 1960, aged 69 years, 2 months and 17 days, in Port Lincoln, South Australia, Cause of death was several years of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) and a cerebral haemorrhage, lasting 30 hours.3

She was buried in Happy Valley Cemetery, Port Lincoln, South Australia.3,4
