     Roy Allen was born on 15 October 1913 in Mile End, South Australia, son of Albert Horace George Allen and Amy Warren.

On 15 September 1936, Roy, aged 22, married Daphne Edna Aleatha Rogers, aged 22, daughter of William Albert Rogers and Iris Winifred Perry, in St Michaels Church in Henley Beach, South Australia.

Roy began military service on 11 April 1943 when he enlisted in the field, Western Australia. His service number was SX32115.
He was discharged on 26 November 1945 with the rank of Gunner in 16 Field Regiment.1

He died on Monday, 2 December 1974, aged 61 years, 1 month and 17 days, in West Richmond, South Australia,2 and he was cremated at Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, on 4 December 1974. A memorial can be found there.2
