PITT—BODDINGTON
WEDDING
A very pretty wedding was celebrated in the Methodist Church, Naracoorte, on January 12, when Vera, younger daughter of Mr. and, Mrs. Charles Boddington, of Binnum, was married to David, elder son of Mr. and Mis. G. Pitt, of Wrattonbully, Naracoorte.
The church had been decorated with pink and blue mixed flowers by friends of the bride, and looked very attractive.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of white embroidered Swiss organdie. The bodice had a round neck edged by a frill edged with pleated lace, and the waist was finished with frill of same. The skirt fell gracefeully, into a long train. Her long tulle veil was held in place with a plait of white satin ribbon and orange blossom.
Her sister (Mrs. Ian Hutchison) was matron of honour, and wore a pale blue embroidered Swiss organdie. Her dress had a round neck edged by a narrow frill and finished with blue satin ribbon sash at waist. Her shoulder length veil of blue tulle was finished with a blue satin ribbon plait. Both she and the bride carried cream and pink water lilies.
The groom was supported by his brother, Roger, and Rev. A. Jackson performed the ceremony.
Just before the pronouncing of the Benediction the bride's brother, Mr. Frank Boddington, sang "Where E'er You Walk." Mr. Ray Clark was organist, while Mr. Ross Boddington and Mr. Charles Pitt acted as ushers.
As the bride was leaving the church lucky horseshoes were hung on her arm by her cousin, Rosemary Boddington, and Margie Koch, of Wrattonbully,
Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boddington entertained about 85 guests and relatives at the Kincraig Hotel.
The hostess wore dusky pink, with a pink hat, relieved with junior navy, and her accessories were junior navy.
The groom's mother wore a rust suit, relieved with a touch of white. She chose a flat black straw hat and black accessories.
Later the bridal couple left by car for their honeymoon, the bride wearing chartrese crepe with brighter narrow bands round the skirt. Her grosgraine hat and her accessories were London tan.1
