     Albion St Leon Gray was born on 30 August 1911 in Marden, South Australia, son of William Robert Gray and Marianne Duncan.1

Albion began military service on 4 July 1940 in Adelaide, South Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. His service number was SX7823. He was wounded in action in New Guinea on 26th November 1943. At the time he was a private in the 2/48th Australian Infanty Battalion.2

He died on Sunday, 9 January 1944, aged 32 years, 4 months and 10 days, in Brisbane, Queensland, in the Brisbane Military Hospital.3

Albion was buried in the Lutwyche Cemetery, Brisbane, Queensland.4
