     George Charles Piercy was born on 8 November 1913 in Willunga, South Australia, son of Joseph Piercy and Mabel Rose Annie Ellis.1

On 25 May 1932, George, aged 18, married Ellen May Whitehead, in Maughan Church in Adelaide, South Australia.2

George began military service on 3 June 1940 in Adelaide, South Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. His service number was SX4166. When he was discharged, on 3rd April 1945, he was a Private in the 2/27 Battalion.3

In 1951 he was a bricklayer.4

In the Supreme Court, Adelaide, South Australia, on 17 January 1951, George was granted a divorce from Ellen on the grounds of adultery with Keith Delaney, of McLaren Vale. The case was undefended.4
