     Marjorie Beris Horsnell was born on 25 April 1922 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia.1

Marjorie began military service on 1 July 1943 in Redbank, Queensland, Australia, when she enlisted in the Australian Army. Her service number was QF271535. She was discharged on 19th March 1946, with the rank of Private with the Australian Womens Army Service.2

On 6 April 1946, Marjorie, aged 23, married Vernon Linley Lance Dansie, aged 27, son of Lance Gordon Dansie and Nellie Ivy Pitman, in St Paul's Church of England in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia.1

     The wedding was solemnised at St. Paul's Church of England, of Miss Marjorie Beris Horsnell, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Horsnell, 29 Whitehill-road, Ipswich, and Corporal Vernon Lance Dansie, second son of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Dansie, Broken Hill, N.S.W. Rev. H. Kestell Cornish officiated, and Mrs. Ray Jones played the organ.
     The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a classically cut trained frock of heavy ivory satin. Her two-tiered full length veil was finished with a halo trimmed with orange blos- soms. She carried a trailer bouquet of dahlias, roses, carnations, and stephanotis, and a satin floral horseshoe.
     The chief bridesmaid, Miss Esme Dittman, was frocked in rose pink taffeta, with a tulle veil and headdress of matching flowers, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and forget-me-nots with fern. The second bridesmaid, Miss Lorna Barber, wore a frock of sky blue taffeta, with a tulle veil and headdress of flowers. She also carried a bouquet of carnations and forget-me-nots.
     The bride groom was attended by Warrant Officer Jack Frisshorn as best man, and Pte. John Mclver as groomsman.
     The reception was held at Whitehouse's Cafe, where the bride's mother received the guests. She wore a hyacinth blue crepe frock with black ac- cessories, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The two tier wedding cake was a central feature of the tables, which were artistically decorated, pink and blue being the main colourings. Several telegrams were read at the reception.
     For travelling the bride chose a frock of hydranga blue with navy accessories. The honeymoon was spent at South port.3
She died on Monday, 6 December 2010, aged 88 years, 7 months and 11 days, in Mermaid Beach, Queensland, Australia.1
