She died on Wednesday, 25 March 1931, in hospital, Adelaide, South Australia. She had been living in Clarence Gardens.4

Life Events

     Reginald Carl Rügner was born on 24 August 1890 in Eastwood, South Australia, son of Carl Herman Rügner and Annie Isabel Picard.1

In 1916 he was a tram conductor with the Metropolitan Tramways Trust (MTT.)

On 12 August 1916, Reginald, aged 25, married Enid McCullough, in Methodist Church in Parkside, South Australia.2

Reginald began military service on 16 September 1916 when he enlisted in the Australian Army. His service number was 16237 and he left Adelaide on board the O.C. Troopship "Berrima" on 16th December 1916, landing at Devonport, England, on 19th February 1917.
On 9 June 1917 he was sent to Rouelles, France for training with the Australian Army Medical Corps.
8th June saw him joining the 14th Field Ambulance and they were sent into the field.
On the 25th September 1817 he was wounded in action and taken to 3rd Field Ambulance Corps Central Bureau.

He died on Tuesday, 25 September 1917, aged 27 years, 1 month and 1 day, in France, from his wounds.

Reginald is remembered in a memorial in the Yrpes (Menin Gate) Memorial, Yrpes, (now known as Ieper), West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.3

On 14 May 1920, Enid, married Hurtle John McKee, aged 31, the residence of Reverend R. McCullough, in High Street, Grange, South Australia. He was a Baptist minister.
