CAR OVERTURNED

Two men died and their wives were admitted to hospital after their car overturned three times on the New England Highway at Mudie's Creek, near Singleton.
Killed were Roy Thomas Fairlie, 31, of Quarry Road, Ryde, and Thomas Williamson, 29, of Blaxland Road, Ryde.
Their wives, Mrs. Eleanor Sophie Fairlie, 32, suffered shock and minor injuries, and Mrs. Jean Williamson, 25, a fractured right arm.
Both women are in Singleton Hospital. Their conditions are not serious.
Police said that Fairlie was killed instantly, and Williamson died shortly after being admitted to Singleton Hospital.
They said that the car, driven by Fairlie, apparently swerved to pass another vehicle, swayed, hit a guide post, and turned over three times.
Passing motorists pulled the four people from the wreckage of the car.
