     Joy Woollacott was born on 22 June 1913 in Aberdeen, South Australia, daughter of Thomas Henry Woollacott and Nellie Pearson Westmoreland.

In August 1937, in Adelaide Children's Hospital, North Adelaide, South Australia, Joy passed her final nursing exams with a Credit and Silver Medal.1

On 1 July 1985, Joy, aged 72, married William Edward Wagner, aged 84, in 31 Conyngham Street in Elizabeth East, South Australia.3
