Life Events

Florence Phoebe Thompson was born about June 1875 in Salford, Lancashire, England.2

Florence emigrated from England, leaving Liverpool on 15 June 1940, to Bermuda.
She had been living at the International Sports Club, Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
I guess she decided to get out of London because of the Second World War, which had started in September of the previous year. Three months after she left, from September 7th, London was bombed on 57 consecutive nights.1

She died on Monday, 27 July 1942, in Nassau, Bahamas.3

Probate was granted on her estate on 25 January 1943 in Llandudno, Clwyd, Wales, to Beatrice Liddiard, spinster, and Richard Colin Trevithick Tangye, major, H.M. army. Her effects were valued at £13,945 4s 6d (approx. 2013 value = AU$2,600,000.00.)3
