     Lancelot Charles Allen was born in 1870 in New Zealand, son of Henry Fitzgerald Allen and Alice Bury Edmonds.¹

In 1897, Lancelot, married Amy Higgs, in New Zealand.¹

On 1 February 1902 an application was made by William Brown Oman to transfer the Publican's Licence for the "Rangatira Hotel" in Te Karaka, New Zealand to Lancelot Charles Allen on 7 March. The application was granted.²

In 1906 Lancelot and Amy appeared on the electoral roll for New Zealand Electoral District of Waiapu District, East Cape, New Zealand. He was a Hotelkeeper in Te Karaka.³

On 7 May 1907 he applied to transfer his Publican's Licence for the Rangatira Hotel, Te Karaka, New Zealand to James Pettie on 7th of June. The application was granted.²

Lancelot appeared on the New Zealand electoral roll for the District of Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand. He and Amy were listed in the 1911, 1914 & 1919 rolls as settlers (I assume they were farmers) in Te Karaka.

He died on Saturday, 21 October 1922, aged 52 years, in New Zealand.

Lancelot was buried on 23 October 1922 in the Taruheru Cemetery, Nelson Road, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
