     Charles Braithwaite Wallis was born in September 1873 in Muswell Hill, Middlesex, England, son of Charles Woodward Wallis and Gertrude Edmonds.1

He appeared on the census on 3 April 1881, in the household of Charles Woodward Wallis in 70 Marine Parade, Brighton, Sussex, England, as son, age 7.1

In July 1898 he was "recomended for a D.S.O. for his gallant conduct on the 4th of June last, during the operations against the Mendis, West Africa". At the time he was serving with the Sierra Leone Frontier Force.2

On 16 August 1913, Charles, aged 39, married Bessie Agnes Laird, in Bath Abbey in Bath, Somerset, England.

The marriage took place very quietly at Bath Abbey, on Saturday, of Captain Charles Braithwaite Wallis, Consul General at Dakar, son of Mr. Charles W. Wallis, M.A., Barrister-at-Law, and grandson of the late Mr. Edmonds, J.P., D.L. of Berryfield, Bradford-on-Avon, and Miss Bessie Agnes (Betty) Laird, daughter of Mr. George Laird, of 4 Beaufort West, Bath, and niece of Mr. G. S. Laird-MacGregor. The officiating clergyman was the Reverend F. Reginald Evans, M.A., British Chaplain at Las Palmas, assisted by the Reverend W. R. Flex, (preceptor at Bath Abbey), in the unavoidable absence of the Rector of Bath, (Preb. S. A. Boyd). There was only one bridesmaid, Miss J. Denton. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. W. S. Laird-MacGregor. Captain H. J. K. Wallis, cousin of the bridegroom, 20th Cavalry, Indian Army, acted as best man.
The presents were numerous.3
On 14 November 1928 it was announced in the "Aberdeen Journal" that he had been appointed to be His Majesty's Envoy Extraordinay and Minister Plenipotentiary to Panama and Costa Rica.2

He died on Saturday, 4 August 1945, aged 71 years and 11 months, in Evelyn Nursing Home, Trumpington Road, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England,3,4 and he was cremated at Cambridge Crematorium, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on 8 August 1945.5

Probate was granted on his estate on 22 November 1945 in Llandudno, Conwy, Clwyd, Wales, to the Public Trustee. His effects were valued at £54,709 11s 2d (2010 value approx. AU$1,840,000.00.)4

     Andrew Bernard Starkey was born on 10 December 1910 in Mount Hall, South Australia, son of Robert Andrew Nelson Starkey and Ivy Mildred Eileen North.1

Andrew began military service on 15 November 1941 in Port Kenny, South Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. His Service Number was S56945. He was discharged on 14 March 1946 with the rank of Private in the 4th Australian Food Supply PL.2

On 22 February 1942, Andrew, aged 31, married Dorothy Jean Ransom, aged 28, daughter of Charles William John Ransom and Lillian May Gully, in South Australia.1

On 1 July 1958 Andrew was widowed when his wife, Dorothy died a week after giving birth to Dianne. Dianne was then adopted by her uncle and auntie Claire and Audrey Starkey.

He died on Thursday, 2 October 1997, aged 86 years, 9 months and 22 days, in Port Kenny, South Australia.1

Andrew was buried on 5 October 1997 in the Conglima Cemetery, Conglima, South Australia.1

She died on Tuesday, 1 July 1958, aged 45 years, 1 month and 23 days, in Streaky Bay, South Australia, from a massive pulmonary embolism, pelvic thrombosis; has had a recent parturiton. She had been living in Port Kenny prior to her death.1

Dorothy was buried on 5 July 1958 in the Conglima Cemetery, Conglima, South Australia.1
