     Walter George Oxlade was born on 27 February 1917 in Conway Town, South Australia, son of Henry Charles Oxlade and Margaret Ethel Coad.1

Walter, married Audrey Elizabeth (Betty) Lane.2

Walter began military service on 22 December 1941 when he enlisted into the Australian Army in Adelaide. His service number was S50718. He was discharged on 28th February 1945 as a Private in the 122 G T Coy.3

In 1950 Walter and Audrey were living in 348 Prospect Road, Kilburn, South Australia.4 On 23 December 1954 in Police Court, Adelaide, South Australia, he admitted to indecently interfering with his niece, aged 10 years 3 months, in Adelaide on December 11. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment.5

He died on Thursday, 17 June 2010, aged 93 years, 3 months and 21 days, in Modbury Hospital, Modbury, South Australia.6
