     Arthur Canard Aughey was born about 1897, son of John Jardine Aughey.1

On 19 May 1920, Arthur, married Elizabeth Hilda Evans, aged 22, daughter of George Henry Evans and Jane Hards, in Methodist Manse in Laura, South Australia.1

Arthur began military service on 15 August 1941 in Wayville, South Australia, when he enlisted in the Australian Army. He was discharged on 28th March 1947, with the rank of Corporal in the 4th MD Provost Company.3

He died on Sunday, 1 February 1976, in Firle, South Australia,4 and he was cremated at Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, on 3 February 1976.4
