     John Hobbs was born in 1853 in Canowie Station, South Australia, son of George Hobbs and Harriet Ann Moore.2

To my knowledge, John wasand were never married.2

He died on Thursday, 10 February 1898, aged 45 years, at Double Tank Creek, about 3 miles south of Silverton, New South Wales, Australia. An enquiry, held at Silverton, found that he had died by "supposed accidental drowning."1,2

John was buried on 13 February 1898 in the Church of England Cemetery, Silverton, New South Wales, Australia.2
