She died on Friday, 1 April 1955, in Port Lincoln Hospital, Port Lincoln, South Australia, from cerebral thrombosis and senility.³

Edith was buried on 2 April 1955 in the Happy Valley Cemetery, Port Lincoln, South Australia.⁴
