He died on Sunday, 8 May 2016, aged 98 years, 9 months and 3 days, in Port Lincoln Hospital, Port Lincoln, South Australia.3

On 18 November 1948, Dudley, aged 27, married Dorothy Mary Fitzgerald, aged 23, daughter of Phillip William John Fitzgerald and Mary Anne Josephine Mitchell, in Streaky Bay, South Australia.3

He died on Sunday, 24 September 1989, aged 67 years, 11 months and 10 days, in the Port Pirie Hospital, Port Pirie, South Australia, after having a heart attack while travelling, by car, from Port Augusta to Port Pirie.3
