On 2 July 1848, Thomas, aged 20, married Eliza Barnard, in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England.

Thomas Talbot emigrated as an agricultural labourer, with his wife Eliza nee Barnard and their son John Henry, 1 yr, on board the "Magdalena".
Also on board were Thomas's brother Henry, his wife Susannah nee Hobbs, and son John, 1yr, Susannah's brother George Hobbs and his wife Harriet (nee Moore) and their daughter, Fanny, aged 1 and also Susannah and George's younger sister, Jane Hobbs.
They all arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia on 26th Aug 1853. on 25 August 1853 in Londonfrom via Southampton, Hampshire, England.2

He died on Tuesday, 8 January 1901, aged 72 years, 9 months and 30 days, in Booborowie, South Australia, of senile decay and congestion on the lungs.3

     Eliza Barnard was born about 1824 in Froxfield, Wiltshire, England.1

On 2 July 1848, Eliza, married Thomas Talbot, aged 20, son of John Talbot and Sarah Dennis, in Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England.

Eliza emigrated from England, bound for Australia, accompanying her husband and in-laws, leaving London on board the "Magdalena" on 23 May 1853 and arriving in Port Adelaide on 26th August, 1853.2

She died on Saturday, 11 January 1919, in Kooringa, South Australia, of morbis cordis, valvular disease.3

Eliza was buried on 12 January 1919 in the Burra Cemetery, Burra, South Australia, by C. J. Pearce. Her last place of residence was Kooringa.4
